ORIENTAL GARDEN VOL. 9
Oriental Garden compilation album series, mastered by DJ Gülbahar Kültür since the very beginning, continues to roll on its path scoring huge success all over the world... And now comes the ninth edition: Oriental Garden Vol.9; here we have inspiring masterpieces and truly tempting dance songs, insightfully brought together to form a delightful musical melting pot.
Absolutely impressive double CD compilation album where urban refinement meets the ecstasy and aphrodisia of the Levant, features 32 songs. Hummus Bar is the title of the first CD that is choreographed so as to leave the same taste as the delicious, world-famous dish of the Middle East. Beyrouth, the first charming track of Hummus Bar neatly underlines the pull between the East and the West, where Ibrahim Maalouf plays a microtonal trumpet that allows performance of “maqqam”, the system of tones that characterizes the music of the Middle East besides the performance of immaculate electric and jazz fusion airs. Murat Eryalçın, born in Istanbul in 1976, has started his professional music career in the 90s. He is a great talent not only favoured for his touching voice but also as a successful lyrics writer and composer, not to mention his good looks. Murat Eryalçın performs the second track Nefesim Ol (Be My Breath) that is his own composition with lyrics written by Gülbahar Kültür, in Oriental Garden Vol.9. The collective of Bojan Zulfikarpasic, Nenad Vasilic, Bachar Kalife & Vlatko Stefanovski features Amira Medunjanin’s cool and creamy voice in the incisive song: Oj Ti Momče. Talal Kontar depicts a very true picture of Lebanon today in Kif El Wade3, referring to the famous Pink Panther theme song. Sophia Charaï blends Moroccan sounds with international influences and a touch of drama on her dreamy song Pichu-Pichu. General Suleiman is the politically critical peace song of Lebanese singer Zeid Hamdan, arrested for writing this song with lyrics that go "put your weapons down, now it's time to leave your warlords behind...” Mashrour' Leila’s Raksit Leila and Ziad Ghazal‘s Abre Tus Alas stand out with genuine, positive vibes just like Come Together performed by Nguyên Lê, claimed to be “the most exciting guitar player on the planet at the moment”.
The second CD is named after the popular dish of North Africa - Club Couscous: full of energy and good taste. Each and every song is great for dancing any negativity away... Algerian singer and actress Amel Bouchoucha performs the first track of Club Couscous and beckons for a blazing party. UTN1, the Iraqi pop/rock band of Armenian origin formed in hard times in Iraq hails with Eid Wahda, a melodious, catchy and upbeat song. Making her mark on both sides of the Atlantic as a million copy seller of highly charming musical blend Isthar Alabina, claimed to be the “Queen of the Middle East”, takes place in Club Couscous with her track that reaches out to Spain: Sin Ti. A refreshing sparkle comes from Azerbaijan in Wild Kisses performed by Seyran Ismayilkhanov. Creating 21st Century electro-roots music with a pan-Balkanic consciousness, La Cherga excels in Sufi Dub; and Viens, Viens, the cool performance of Watcha Clan feat. Maurice El Medioni is purely a song of the heart. Belly Dance With Me by Suat Ateşdağlı feat. Funky C sets all the energy within, out in motion...
